Dr. Reem J. Razem is a scholar and consultant specializing in Family Language Policy (FLP), with over two decades of experience in language education and research across the UAE. She holds a Ph.D. in TESOL from the British University in Dubai, where her research focused on Arabic–English bilingualism, codeswitching, and mother-tongue transmission among Arab expatriate families in the Gulf. Currently an Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at RIT Dubai, Dr. Razem advises families, educators, and institutions on designing culturally grounded FLP strategies that support the intergenerational maintenance of Arabic. She is an active member of international applied linguistics associations and continues to bridge academic research with practical language planning in multilingual Arab contexts.
