Rasha Hijazi is a senior leader in Arabic language and Islamic studies education and currently the Director of these subjects at GEMS Wellington Academy, Al-Khail, Dubai. Since 2015, she has led Arabic A, Arabic B, and Islamic studies from Nursery to Year 13, overseeing a large and talented team. Rasha redesigned curricula to improve student reading fluency, developed robust assessment systems, and prioritized professional development to empower teachers and raise academic standards. She delivered extensive training for Early Years Arabic across the GEMS network and, in 2025, presented a TEDx talk on how AI is transforming Arabic language education. Inspectors have recognized her leadership as one of the strongest in Dubai private schools, highlighting the clear vision and lasting impact she has brought to teaching and learning.
