Habiba Hamdan is the Deputy Headteacher and Arabic & Islamic Lead at GEMS Wellington International School, and Senior Director for Arabic Standards & Performance across the British Schools Cluster. She holds a BA (Hons) in Arabic Literature and an MA (Hons) in Arabic Syntax & Morphology from the University of Jordan, in addition to a Higher Diploma in Teaching and the UK Extended Diploma in Global Teaching Practice. With more than 25 years of experience in education, Habiba began her career as a university lecturer at Birzeit University in Palestine and later at the Arab Open University in Jeddah. She has since taught Arabic to both native and non-native speakers, alongside GCSE, IGCSE, IB Diploma, Islamic Studies, Moral Education, and Social Studies. For over 15 years, she has successfully led Arabic and Islamic departments in international schools across Dubai. She is deeply committed to raising standards, fostering innovation, and ensuring that every student reaches their full potential.
