HE Dr. Layla Abdulaziz Ebrahim Al Hyas is the Community Development Executive Director with the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, with 20 years Total Work Experience. H.E. Dr. Layla Al Hayas has led strategies, policies and standards development and guided the design and development of strategic initiatives in the social sector. She also served as the Executive Director of the Monitoring and Social Innovation Sector in DCD, and during her tenure led several projects aimed at developing innovative solutions to social challenges using research and innovation tools. Her Excellency had previously served as programme manager in the education sector and had contributed to the development of some public health policies and strategies in the school’s education environment. She also worked as a senior research analyst – at the National Rehabilitation Centre and oversaw a range of research focusing on prevention of hazardous behaviors, substance abuse and reintegration into the family and society. Dr. Al Hyas holds a PhD in Public Health and primary care – Imperial College London-UK, and MSC in Clinical Pharmacy International Practice and Policy – University College London UCL- UK.
