Dr. Asmahan Saleh Khalil is a licensed child psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) with over 14 years of experience in child and adolescent psychology, trauma-informed care, and behavioral intervention. She holds a PhD from Queen’s University Belfast and is currently an adjunct professor at Zayed University in the UAE. She also practices clinically at Free Spirit Collective in Dubai. Dr. Asmahan is a regional leader in safeguarding and abuse prevention, with a strong focus on supporting children with developmental, intellectual, and emotional needs. She is a founding board member of the Association of Behavior Analysis in Lebanon (ABAL) and the founder of Amana, a regional initiative promoting systemic safeguarding reforms through toolkits, curricula, and culturally responsive training. Her clinical and academic work centers on early intervention, trauma-responsive care, and sexual health education in the Arab world. She delivers training and consultation to professionals, educators, and parents on abuse prevention and positive behavior support. Her experience spans schools, clinics, and community-based settings, especially with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. Dr. Asmahan also co-authored the children’s book “The Day the World Went Boom” and continues to advocate for child safety through inclusive, evidence-based practice.
