Sarah Raslan

The Wise Parent

Co-Founder & Coach

Sarah holds two Masters, and MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health and an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development. Sarah is the co-founder of The Wise Parent. Through their innovative and tailored parenting programme, she positively impact families by fostering healthy parent-child relationships and enhancing overall family dynamics. Her approach includes one-on-one coaching sessions, group workshops, and interactive modules, equipping parents with essential skills and strategies. Rooted in evidence-based practices, active listening, and empathy, her coaching creates a nurturing environment where parents can openly discuss concerns and receive personalised advice, leading to transformative experiences. This work that she does as a parent coach stems from her previous experience working on conflict, peace and stabilisation programmes in the MENA region. She has nearly 20 years cumulative experience designing and implementing research, evaluations and impact assessments of multi-donor education, child protection and psychosocial programmes – particularly for UN and INGO such as the World Bank, as well as governmental bodies. Her experience as a researcher for humanitarian programmes revealed the enduring suffering of conflict victims, especially the negative impact of intergenerational trauma on families and children, which is what ultimately motivated her to launch The Wise Parent. She believes that peace and prosperity for the Arab world starts with the parents’ own healing.
